RAMP - Technology Clinic 2026

Under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) scheme, the District Industries Centre, Idukki organized a one-day Technology Clinic on 'Food Preservation Techniques' at Rangers Hotel, Adimali on March 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Shri. Vinod K.S. (Assistant District Industries Officer - ADIO) and was officially inaugurated by Smt. Lissyamma Samuel, General Manager (GM) of the District Industries Centre, Idukki. In her inaugural address, the General Manager highlighted the importance of acquiring modern technologies for local entrepreneurs to remain competitive in the global market. Shri. Sabu A.P. (IEO) proposed the vote of thanks.

The technical session was handled by Dr. B.R. Anilkumar, former Senior Scientist at DRDO - DFRL. He shared insights on modern scientific methods of food preservation, latest packaging trends to enhance product shelf life, value addition techniques for key crops of Idukki such as spices and fruits, as well as food safety regulations (FSSAI) and quality standards.

Special helpdesks were also set up to assist entrepreneurs during the event. The K-SWIFT Helpdesk provided details on obtaining faster business clearances through the single-window portal, while the UDYAM Registration Helpdesk guided participants through the registration process and explained the associated benefits. A total of 70 entrepreneurs from various parts of the district and 9 officials from the Department of Industries attended the clinic, which successfully concluded at 4:00 PM.
