Recognizing the immense potential and contribution of the global Malayali diaspora from the state, Government of Kerala has decided to launch a Special Private Industrial Estate Scheme for Pravasis viz.NORKA PRIVATE INDUSTRIAL ESTATE SCHEME (NPIE) – 2026.
The Main objective of the scheme is and to address the scarcity of industrial land by ensuring its availability for entrepreneurs, thereby facilitating their industrial ventures in Kerala. The scheme is designed to facilitate investment by Expatriates/returnees/NRKs in the industrial growth of Kerala, Create dedicated industrial zones tailored to the needs and expectations of global investors, Foster knowledge transfer, technology adoption, and job creation through diaspora engagement. Individuals /Entities (NRK/Expatriate or Returned expatriate or family Members or Entities formed by NRKs, expatriates, returned expatriates) owning and possessing or holding lease right (for a minimum period of 30 years ) , of 3 to 7 acres of land in in Kerala can apply for development of standard design factory . Those who holding more than 7 acre to 15 acres land can apply for Industrial Estate Development. Government will provide an assistance of a maximum of `3 Crores (Three Crores) as reimbursement towards building infrastructure facilities such as Electricity, Water, internal road, drainage, ETP/CETP, Common facilities like laboratory, testing and certification facilities with in the ‘NORKA Private Industrial Estate’.

The Government of Keralam has always been a strong advocate for promoting and preserving the rich heritage of its public sector organizations. These traditional entities have long been the backbone of the state's economy, offering a range of high-quality products. In the digital age, there exists a need and a possibility for the reach of these products of the PSUs beyond the local markets. Accordingly to enhance the visibilityand brand value of these traditional products, the government of keralam envisioned a common e-commerce platform, Kshoppe.in. This portal aims to bring the diverse offerings of Keralam's public sector units to a larger audience, providing these products with the recognition and reach they deserve.
The concept of Kshoppe.in was envisioned by the Ministry of Industries. This forward-thinking initiative, which is the first of its kind in Keralam, was brought to fruition under the leadership of the Additional Chief secretary Industries, Industries Department and the Board of Public Sector Transformation (BPT). The objective was clear: to create a unified platform that highlights the diverse offerings of public sector organizations, consolidating them under a single, recognizable government brand.
The KShoppe portal is a centralized e-commerce portal. The portal can be accessed using the url : https://kshoppe.in . A mobile app also available in google play store named 'kshoppe'. Currently customers can buy products from over 350 number of products enrolled in the portal from different categories. In total the products are supplied by 19 PSUs of Keralam.
The portal is developed in-house by the KELTRON software team, which also manages the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the platform. A dedicated KELTRON call center is available during business hours to assist customers with sales and support inquiries.
Kshoppe.in is set to transform the way Keralam's public sector products are marketed and sold. The portal provides a digital platform that extends the reach of these products beyond local markets, offering them to all over India. The rigorous security measures, combined with trusted payment and logistics solutions, it is considered that both sellers and buyers have a reliable and secure platform to conduct their transactions. Kshoppe.in not only enhances the visibility of public sector products but also significantly boosts their brand value, positioning them as premium offerings in the marketplace.
Looking ahead, Kshoppe.in is envisioned to become a dynamic and integral part of Keralam's e-commerce landscape. The portal is continually evolving by adding new features and expanding its product range. Future plans include integrating advanced technologies like AI-based recommendation systems, personalized shopping experiences, and analytics-driven marketing strategies, providing delivery services to not only to India and other countries also.
