Tile Industry : One of the significant industries of the area, the tile industry of Thrissur employs numerous labors from the state and outside. The Thrissur tile industry is more than a hundred years old. 

Ayurveda Industry: Thrissur is also emerging as the largest hub for Ayurvedic drug manufacturing industry in the India. Out of the 850 ayurvedic drug-manufacturing units in Kerala, about 150 units, including some of the major ayurvedic drug manufacturers in the state are located in and around the Thrissur. Of these, some of the companies like the OushadhiVaidyaratnam OushadhasalaKP NamboodirisSitaram Ayurvedic Pharmacy Ltd, Kandamkulathy Vaidyasala, SNA Oushadhasala etc. are among the leading ayurvedic drug manufacturers in the state.

Gold and Diamond Jewellery Industry: Thrissur  is referred as the Golden city of India. It manufactures 70% of plain gold jewellery in Kerala. The diamond production in South India is concentrated in Thrissur. Majority of the units located in Kapiparambu, Tholur, Adat, Choondal and Avanur.

Wooden Furniture: The wooden furniture industry is concentrated in Cherppu,Vallachira, Paralam region. Around 500 units are concentrated in this area.

Engineering and Machine Manufacturing: Mukudapuram and Thrissur taluks are famous for Engineering and Machine manufacturing units.

Plastic and allied Industry: The major manufacturers  of PVC water pipes , Tanks,pipe fittings, Taps are located in the Region. Several  Plastic manufacturing units are coming up in the District. As a supporting sector Tool and mold making facilities are also emerging.

Handloom Industry: There are 13 registered working Handloom Co-operative Societies in Thrissur District. They are Eravathody ,Choondal Kondazhy ,Thalikulam ,Gandhi Memmorial,Kuthampully ,Thiruvilwamala Anthikkad, Poyya, Nadavaramba, Cherpu, Irinjalakuda, Kodungallur HWCSS Limited. Kuthampully sarees is the product of Handloom sector of the District.
